Director Anjali Menon's "Bangalore Days", released in 2014, became one of the highest grossing Malayalam movies and received many accolades. The multi-starrer is now being made in Tamil as "Bangalore Naatkal" and is all set to do good business at the Tamil Nadu box office as well.
Will "Bangalore Naatkal" repeat the success of "Bangalore Days"? The Malayalam movie was well accepted by the Kerala audience and imagining other actors reprising the roles of their favourite stars is something that is unacceptable for many, even though many Malayalam movies remade in Tamil have created wonders at the box office in Tamil Nadu.
Looking at the cast of the upcoming movie, it is only actress Parvathy, who plays the role of RJ Sarah in the remake version. Parvathy's performance in "Bangalore Days" is considered as one of the best roles of the actress till date and she is sure to enthral the audience in "Bangalore Naatkal" as well. The pairing of Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy was another highlight of the original movie, so will Arya match up to Dulquer?

Actress Nazriya Nazim won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for her performance as Divya in the 2014 movie, but looking at "Bangalore Naatkal" trailer Sri Divya's casting doesn't look really appealing compared to Nazriya's performance. However, it has to be noted that Sri Divya has done notable roles in many movies, including "Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam", for which she won the SIIMA Award for Best Debut Actress.
Nivin's portrayal of the character Kuttan in "Bangalore Days" bagged him the Best Actor award during the recently concluded Kerala State Film Awards and Fahadh Faasil received good response for portraying the role of Shivadas. While Bobby Simha plays the role of Kannan (Kutty) in "Bangalore Naatkal", Rana Daggubati reprises Fahadh's character in the remake version.
The other cast of "Bangalore Naatkal" are Raai Laxmi as Lakshmi and Samantha as Grace, instead of Isha Talwar and Nithya Menen, respectively. Directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar, "Bangalore Naatkal", starring Arya, Sri Divya, Bobby Simha, Rana Daggubati, Parvathy, Raai Laxmi and Samantha, will be released on 5 February. If "Bangalore Naatkal" repeats the success of "Bangalore Days" is something we need to wait and watch after three days.
