Actor Vijay Sethupathy's film "Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara" ("Isn't this what you desired for, Balakumara?") is all set for a grand release on 2 October.
Expectations are high for the film, thanks to Vijay who has three back-to-back hits to his credit.
"Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara" (IAB) is a black comedy directed by Gokul of "Rowthiram" fame. Apart from Vijay, the film has Ashwin Kakumanu, Nandita, Swati Reddy, Pasupathy, Soori, MS Bhaskar, VS Raghavan and "Pattimandram" Raja appear in pivotal roles.
Praising Vijay's performance in the film, director Gokul told Sify, "Lyricist Madhan Karky has written the script of the film which is laced with subtle humour. Vijay Sethupathy has done an excellent job as he had to work a lot on his body language. His character name is Summar Moonji Kumar, but he is certainly not sumaar but super."
"IAB" has received a clean "U" certificate from the censor board. The film will release in more than 200 screens across Tamil Nadu. It has received prime shows in multiplexes, while the Hindi release "Besharam" has been allotted smaller screens. According to reports, advance booking for "IAB" has been receiving amazing response, which could possibly be attributed to the Gandhi Jayanthi holiday.
The Vijay starrer is based on comical incidents that happen in day-to-day life. The film's trailers have already generated a lot of hype among fans.
"IAB" is releasing just 5 days after Arya's "Raja Rani" hit the screens on 27 September. The romantic-comedy is doing good business at the Indian and overseas box offices. But it remains to be seen if the film will be able to perform steadily with the release of "IAB".
Vijay has three hits in a row including "Pizza", "Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom" and "Soodhu Kavvum". Taking note of the kind of pre-release buzz "IAB" is receiving, the film is expected to get a good opening at the Tamil Nadu box office.
