It's been a little over a month since Wickedleak launched its flagship smartwatch Alpha in India.
Now, we have been handed a review unit of Wickedleak Alpha, and truth be told, we are impressed with the features of the device.
It flaunts a classic rectangular design with CNC steel frame having 1.54-inch 3D (240 x 240p) curved touchscreen. It comes in 22mm leather strap with black and white colour options.
On the back, it features sturdy plastic cover with IP65 water-proof certification. Yet, it weighs just 48 g. Only qualm is that the device's thickness is a bit of an eyesore.
Under the hood, it houses a MediaTek MT2502 processor and 280-mAh battery.
Other notable features include a heart-rate monitor, pedometer, remote camera capture, gesture-based wake-up, call/message notification feature and a sleep monitor. It is compatible to with iOS and Android devices. Users just have to download an APK file from the Wickedleak website, which, once installed, connects the Alpha to smartphones through Bluetooth [v4.0].
Considering the feature-rich specification and its sub-Rs 6,000 price tag, Wickedleak Alpha is a steal — an affordable alternative to Motorola's Moto 360 and other Android Wear OS-powered Samsung and LG smartwatches.
Stay tuned, we will be coming up with a more detailed review later this week.
