While the release of "Roy", starring Jacqueline Fernandez, Arjun Rampal and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles, is around the corner, the promotion of the film is going on in full swing.
Interestingly, while Fernandez and Rampal have been promoting "Roy", the title character played by Kapoor, has been missing from the promotions.
While, speculations were rife that the "Barfi" actor has refused to promote the film as he only has a cameo role, producer Bushan Kumar in an interview with Absolute India, revealed the real reason behind Kapoor's absence.
"There is no problem at all. Actually, the thing is, we don't want to reveal much of the kind of role Ranbir has in this film. Mostly because he plays the title role and if too much information about that same would be revealed then no one would go to watch the movie," said Kumar.
"Roy is a very special film and it's not a run-of-the-mills kind of a movie. It's a very different film. You know the moment Ranbir would say things about his role, then the whole film will get disclosed. So we've kept him for the end. On February 9, we are doing a press conference with Ranbir where he will, in a limited way, speak about the film as well as his role," he added.
"Roy" marks Kapoor's return to the silver screen after his 2013 release "Besharam". Further, the actor has a 55 minutes role in the two hours ten minutes film, stated director Vikramjit Singh.
Written and directed by Singh, the romantic action thriller has Fernandez play a double role - one of an art director named Tia and the other as film director Ayesha.
"Roy" has been shot extensively in different parts of Malaysia including a few locations in Mumbai and will hit the theatres on 13 February 2015.
