Ilayathalapathy Vijay seems to have become cautious after his much-hyped "Puli" bombed at the box office. Despite spending over a year on the project, the film failed to live up to the expectations of the audience. This experience has reportedly made the actor opt out of Sundar C's forthcoming mega-budget film.
Rumours are rife that Ilayathalapathy Vijay has refused to act in Sundar C's film. It is reported that the actor was unwilling to give bulk dates for the film although he was impressed with the story. Hence, he has turned down the director's offer to star in the Tamil version of the flick.
Vijay's mega-budget movie "Puli" suffered huge losses last year at the box office. He had given bulk dates to Chimbu Deven's film and worked hard for over a year on the project. In the end, it neither won critical appreciation nor turned a successful flick at the box office.
Apparently, Vijay has become choosy and he is apparently not interested in doing mega-budget films. In the recent years, there are several instances of big-budget films miserably failing at the box office. So, the actor seems to be not keen to take a chance again.
Coming back to Sundar C's flick, it is a multilingual movie, which will be simultaneously made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages. It is the landmark 100th movie made under Thenandal Films.
The makers had earlier revealed that it would be the biggest ever film made in India and the estimated budget would easily cross over Rs. 350 crore. Rumours say that Suriya was also approached for the lead role. But he too rejected the film for some reasons.
The pre-production works of the film started long ago and the technicians from foreign countries are already working on the untitled flick, which reportedly has a historical subject. AR Rahman, Sabu Cyril and Kamal Kannan have been roped in to head music, art and VFX departments.
