Mahesh Babu's fans in Tamil Nadu have just received some bad news. The Telugu version of his latest movie "Brahmotsavam," which was also expected to release in Tamil, will hit the screens on May 20.
"Unfortunately, no Tamil dubbed version for #Brahmotsavam.. Massive WW release ahead for the Telugu original. [sic]," journalist Kaushik LM confirmed that only the Telugu version will release this Friday. The reason behind the change in plans is not known yet.
The original plan was to simultaneously release the movie in Tamil and Telugu languages. In fact, Mahesh Babu had proudly announced in one of his interviews that "Brahmotsavam" marks his debut in Tamil.
However, his previous movie "Srimanthudu" was simultaneously released in Tamil as "Selvandhan" and it had got decent response from the Tamil cine goers.
"Brahmotsavam" has been written and directed by Srikanth Addala. It is jointly produced by Prasad V Potluri and Mahesh Babu. Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha and Pranitha play the female lead characters in the flick, which has Naresh, Sathyaraj, Jayasudha, Revathi, Saranya Ponvannan, Tanikella Bharani, Tulasi and others in the cast.
The family drama has Mickey J Meyer's music, Mani Sharma's background score, R Rathnavelu's cinematography and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao's editing.
Meanwhile, "Brahmotsavam" is getting ready for a massive worldwide release. The movie is expected to release in over 2,000 screens and it will have premiere shows in foreign countries a day before its theatrical release in India.
In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, many exhibitors have come forward to have extra shows to cash in on unprecedented hype. The movie reportedly has special shows in Karnataka and a few other places.
