Deepika Padukone has been the muse of many celebrated Indian designers. Kolkata-based designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee now spills the beans on why she could make for the perfect 'Sabyasachi Bride'.
"Deepika would make a perfect Sabyasachi bride because she has a striking Indian face, a wonderful Indian body and wears a lot of my traditional Indian clothes beautifully. What I like about her is that she is not someone who only likes to wear polyester, net or clingy clothes. She can also wear a Kanjivaram or Banarasi and still look good," he told PTI.
He also said how an off-beat fabric, one which is usually not worn by most actresses, would look fabulous on the actress. Sabyasachi also stressed on the fact that a Kanjivaram or a Banarasi saree would look excellent on her, adding that she brings a lot of 'cultural context' in her clothing.
However, the master couturier also enjoys dressing up the leading lady's rumoured beau Ranveer Singh. He strongly believes the feisty actor has it in him to carry off the designer's richly embroidered men's wear line.
"I may be saying it as a cliche, but honestly it would be Ranveer Singh because I just love him. He is so easy about whatever he likes to do and that's very charming about him," he further elaborated.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, and Vidya Balan are some of the actresses who swear by Sabyasachi's works.
