Wonder Woman is breaking records at the box office. Not only has the DCEU movie become the most successful female-directed movie, Wonder Woman also broke opening collections of Iron Man, Thor and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
But did you know, Gal Gadot wouldn't have played the role of Wonder Woman had she decided to stay in the army? There are a number of things that you might not know about the DC actress.

The Israeli beauty chose to make a complete career shift. Years later, this shift resulted in the actress being a part of Wonder Woman.
Her acting skills won her a place in what critics are calling the best DCEU movie in their reviews. But did you know that Gadot did not want to be an actress?
While she did want to fight for justice, she imagined it doing it in a real life courtroom as a lawyer, as compared to a World War scene in the Warner Bros movie.
However, life had other things planned for her. She went on to own the crown of Miss Israel at the age of 18 and represented the country at Miss Universe. But she chose to forgo the title because Gadot did not want to be the pageant type of a girl.
Two years later, she turned towards defence and joined the Israeli Defence Forces at the age of 20, she told People while promoting Batman v Superman. After Army, she turned towards law and international relations for further studies.
Ever thought how Gadot would look like a Bond girl? Well, that dream would have come true had she won the part. The Israeli star auditioned for Quantum of Solace, but lost to Olga Kurylenko, she told Glamour. "But I started going to an acting coach, then I got my first role, on an Israeli TV series."
Gadot debuted in the Fast and Furious series in 2009. She featured in the fourth, fifth and sixth editions of the franchise. She had her own stunt scenes as well.
Beyonce was responsible for Gadot's successful Wonder Woman audition. She told W Magazine that she was nervous before her turn came, she put on some Beyonce's Who runs the world? Girls! And her anxiety drove away. She thanks Beyonce. She didn't know she was auditioning for Wonder Woman.
During reshoots of the film, Gadot was five months pregnant, and the director had to green-screen out her baby bump.
She found love in a dessert. Married to real estate developer Yaron Varsona, Gadot told Glamour that the couple met in a strange dessert party. "It was all about yoga, chakras, and eating healthy — we didn't exactly find ourselves there, but we found each other."
Gadot and her husband owned a luxury hotel before selling it to Leonardo DiCaprio's BFF Roman Abramovich, Daily Mail reports.
Gal in Hebrew means wave whereas her surname Gadot means riverbanks.
