Patty Jenkins has added an Indian touch to Wonder Woman 2. It is reported that the DC Film has cast Indian actress Soundarya Sharma to play a pivotal role in the Gal Gadot-starrer Wonder Woman 84.
According to Indian publication The Hindu, Sharma has joined the cast but details about her role are still kept under the wraps. The actress is scheduled to join the team and film her part by the end of October.
"This I can say is a 'dream coming true' situation. It's exhilarating to be a part of such a larger than life character film where you get to play your dream role. I have always dreamt of playing such a character and idolised it," Sharma told the outlet.
Who is Soundarya Sharma?
While she is a relatively unknown face for the US audience, the actress has been a part of two movies in India. According to her IMDb profile, the young star was seen Ranchi Diaries, and Meeruthiya Gangsters.
Although she has starred in merely two movies, she has already received an award for her performance in Ranchi Diaries. Sharma received her first Best Debutante Actress award at Jharkhand International Film Festival a couple of months ago.
She was also in the news earlier this year for recording a cover of Shah Rukh Khan's hit Tujhe Dekha Toh Yeh Jaana Sanam to support his Indian Premiere League, Kolkata Knight Riders. "I am a huge SRK fan. I don't miss any match played by his team. My song is dedicated to him and his team. I wish they emerge as winners this season," says Sharma, Mid-Day reported.
Wonder Woman 84:
