The Predator will hit theaters next month and Shane Black has brought out the Hell Hounds, which, along with the alien Predator, will be on a killing spree!
The first three Predator films have never seized to amaze the audience. The upcoming film will be the fourth in the franchise. The trailer gives us a glimpse of the new transformed version of the Hunters who are bigger, better, and badder. The Hunters have genetically upgraded themselves with alien DNA which will scare the bejeezus out of you.
A man's best friend will always stay by his/her side in any situation. The same is true in Predators as they have their loyal dogs aka the hell hounds which is used for hunting. These deadly hounds will hunt down their prey on the command of the super predator.
"We were trying to stay away from matching any previous design on them," the visual effects supervisor Jonathan Rothbart told Collider.
"So we try to keep it where at least we have some familiar aspects to the dogs that you can bring back to the Predators. Such as, they have some level of dreads to them. And their mouths are not the same as a Predator mouth, but they do have that kind of distended jaw a little bit. It doesn't open sideways like that, but it still has some similarities, just to keep it in the same realm. The skin tones have some similarities as well."
Jonathan said that they wanted an animal that would look deadly to fit into the scene but at some point in the movie the audience will adore it too.
Iron Man 3 director said that there will be other creatures who will be introduced in the movie. Plus, there will be an ultimate Predator who will terrorize a suburban village, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
"If the [ultimate] predator was to be an amalgam of, not just an ordinary predator, but also a collection of traits garnered from the various most powerful species that they've hunted, then you basically would have one that is stronger, faster, and smarter," Shane said.
"We finally got an image that we liked, which captures this very canny, very cunning, and effortlessly powerful, savage predator. One of the only quibbles that I've had with some of the past predators is that, if you're not careful, it can look like a guy in a football suit; big, bulky guy just stomping around. I wanted a certain more graceful, more light, more athletic quality, literally like a predator. If you watch a cheetah, it's not clunky."
Shane said that it was challenging for the team to make the movie scarier than the previous ones. And so they developed and designed a super predator.
The movie is scheduled for release on September 14.
