The decomposed body of model-actress Kritika Chaudhary was recovered by the police from her apartment in Andheri West, Mumbai, on Tuesday, June 13. The incident was first reported by her neighbours who sensed foul smell emanating from her flat.

Ever since the news broke, readers are keen to know more about Kritika and her work in the glamour industry. Here are five things you may want to know about her:
1) Kritika was originally from Haridwar, Uttarakhand, where her mother, brother and sister-in-law reside. A few years ago, she landed in the city of dreams, Mumbai, with an aspiration to become a top model and actress.
2) Apparently, she has done a few modelling assignments in the initial years of her career. After struggling a lot, Kritika got her first television break in Ekta Kapoor's Parichay (2011) but wasn't apparently happy with the role.

3) Later, the 23-year-old bagged a small role in the 2013 movie Rajjo, starring Kangana Ranaut.
4) As per her Facebook page, Kritika was an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva.
5) Kritika was married but had been separated from her husband for more than two years.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police are investigating the case with the help of her neighbours and trying to contact her friends to learn more about the possibility of an alleged murder. The police are still in the process to find out if she was staying alone in the flat or with a roommate.

Apparently, there were injury marks on the body and head which hint of a possible murder. "At this stage, one cannot say for certain if the woman was murdered or she committed suicide. However, based on the decomposed nature of the body, it seems she died 2-3 days back," an officer told Indian Express.
