On Monday, as everyone remained glued to TV screens to watch India post a humongous lot of runs in their final Test match against England in Chennai, we couldn't but help turn our attention to the centre of attraction -- Karun Nair. Interestingly, not many know of the 25-year-old batsman.
Fret not, we have brought out some facts right in time about the Karnataka Ranji Trophy team cricketer. Twitter goes wild after Karun Nair's triple ton.
Nair is only the third Indian after Dilip Sardesai and Vinod Kambli to convert their maiden Test 100 to a double century. On Monday, however, he reached the next level as he scored a triple century. Nair scored a total of 303 runs not out (6x4, 4x32) off 381 balls to become the only second Indian cricketer after Virender Sehwag to score a triple ton in Test cricket.
India declared their first innings of the final test on a record 759 runs.
The 25-year-old is now the third in the list of highest test runs by an Indian in test cricket.
