After a jaw-dropping episode of "Vikings" season 3 that showed the baptism of King Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), it can be assumed that the leader would either be killed by his people or be forced to step down.
Although the cast and crew of the History drama series are tight-lipped over the fate of Fimmel's character, the trailers of the finale hint at the possibility of a new leader. The 30-second-long sneak peek video has one of his soldier saying, "No Christian king will ever be allowed to rule our world. Someone needs to kill him."
In the next scene, Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) is seen leading the soldiers and then it takes viewers to Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick), Rollo (Clive Standen) and Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård) with a voice over, "You betrayed as, you betrayed our future".
While Ludwig's character is the most-likely candidate to be crowned as the leader, his lack of experience in battlefield might open the doors for the others.
Check-out the contenders for the next King of Viking:
Bjorn: Creator Michael Hirst revealed that season 4 will revolve around Bjorn. "I always anticipated continuing with Ragnar's sons because many of them became as famous, if not more, than he was," he said. So there is a possibility of him being the next leader.
Rollo: Standen's character is one of the strongest warriors and has a lot of experience in the battlefield, which increases the chances at being the ruler.
Floki: Skarsgård's character is always shown as a strong believer so he was disappointed with the King's decision. He may try all possible ways to unite people against the leader, which could probably help him earn the trust of people to choose him as the ruler.
