Even as Vijay's "Kaththi" and Suriya's "Anjaan" are yet to hit theatres, buzz surrounding their new projects have started doing the rounds in media circles.
Vijay is currently working in AR Murugadoss' "Kaththi." The film's shooting is progressing at a brisk pace and is expected to be completed by July end, after which the post-production work will commence.
The actor will be shifting his focus on his next project, which will be directed by Simbudevan. The film is all set to go on floors by the end of August. The big budget entertainer is touted to be a fantasy-based project and boasts of a big star cast including Vijay, Sridevi, Kicha Sudeep of "Naan Ee" fame, Shruti Haasan and Hansika Motwani.
Cinematographer Natraj Subramaniam (popularly referred as Nutty) will handle the camera, while Devi Sri Prasad will compose the songs for the film. Nutty and the director are currently hunting for locations for "Vijay 58" (Vijay's 58th film). "Simbudevan and I are headed to several states across India, like Kerala, interior TN, Maharashtra and even up North to Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. The idea is to look for locations that have not been seen on screen before," Nutty told the New Indian Express.
He also said that "Vijay 58" will be shot in Pollachi and Coimbatore. "This is a fantasy based script and it will be a path-breaking film. So it demands the use of such locations like lakes, mountains and greenery that have never been captured before on camera," the cinematographer revealed to the daily.
Expectations are sky high for the project even before it could go on floors as it stars Vijay in the lead role. This is the first time that the actor is teaming up with Chimbudevan, who is popular for making comedy entertainers like "Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikesi" and "Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam."
"Vijay 58" will be produced by Shibu Thameens and P.T.Selvakumar. The film's title and other details about the cast and crew are yet to be officially announced.
The fantasy entertainer is expected to release next year.
