Kamal Haasan's much-awaited "Vishwaroopam 2", which was expected to hit the screens early this year, is still awaiting release.
It was first reported that "Vishwaroopam 2" would release in 2013 but the date was later pushed to January 2014. However, it nows seems the post production work of the film has delayed its release even further.
As "Vishwaroopam 2" is nearing completion, there were talks that Kamal would release the film in April as a Tamil New Year treat for fans. The latest buzz is that Kamal has decided to push his film's release further as Rajinikanth's "Kochadaiiyaan" has been confirmed to hit theatres on 11 April.
Sources have revealed that "Vishwaroopam 2" might hit the screens on 2 May or 9 May, so that there is a decent gap between "Kochadaiiyaan" and Kamal's magnum opus release, reported Indiaglitz. However, an official announcement on the film's exact release date is yet to be made.
Written and directed by Kamal, "Vishwaroopam 2" is a sequel to 2013 blockbuster flick "Vishwaroopam". The sequel will reportedly be more entertaining than "Vishwaroopam", and will have more scope for romance, action and sentiments.
Most of the cast from the first part have been retained for "Vishwarooopam 2", including Kamal, Pooja Kumar, Shekhar Kapur, Andrea Jeremiah and Rahul Bose. Veteran Bollywood actress Waheeda Rahman and Anant Mahadevan are the new additions to the sequel. Waheeda will reportedly be appearing in the role of Kamal's mother.
"Vishwaroopam 2" music will be composed by Ghibran of "Vaagai Soodi Vaa" fame. Usually, Kamal sings at least one song in his films - the actor had even sung some parts in the "Unnai Kaanadhu Naan" song in "Vishwaroopam." However, it seems he has not rendered his voice for any songs in the sequel.
"Vishwaroopam 2", reportedly made on a whopping budget of ₹75 crore, is jointly produced by Aascar Films and Raaj Kamal Films International. The spy thriller will have a simultaneous release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
