CBS will not air a new episode of "The Big Bang Theory" this Monday. The show will return to its regular time slot on Thursdays from 5 November with the episode "The Spock Resonance".
The episode will finally reveal the truth behind the ring Sheldon was seen holding in the Season 8 finale, the official synopsis for the episode states. It will also show Sheldon taking the decision to propose to Amy. However, the result might not be satisfactory.
When Sheldon reaches Amy's apartment to find out if he still has a chance with her, he sees her saying goodnight to someone and kissing him before heading into her apartment. This leaves Sheldon heartbroken, and he ditches his plans to propose to her, spoilers indicate.
Elsewhere in the episode, viewers will see Bernadette and Howard finally having a serious conversation about starting a family. This is brought about by Bernadette's dad Mike, who confronts Howard regarding their decision to not have children.
A leaked summary of the scene reads: "Mike wants to know why Howard doesn't want kids. Howard denies that. Bernie hears their conversation under the floor and starts trying to make an earthquake and aftershocks so that they'll stop talking. Last scene with them sounds like they are seriously considering a baby."
Other characters making a guest appearance in the episode include Leonard Nimoy's son Adam, Casey Sander as Mike and Stephen Merchant as Amy's date.

Wil Wheaton interviews Sheldon for a Star Trek documentary where he reveals the ring and his plan to propose to Amy. Bernadette wants to start renovating the house and the topic of finally starting a family with Howard is brought up.
