Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan are set to work together in a film again and it is Shahid who referred the name of his former girlfriend for the role.
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Shahid revealed that even though he thought Kareena was perfectly fit for the role in "Udta Punjab", he was scared of referring her name.
"The role that Kareena plays, I felt it was perfect for her. In fact, I was a little scared of referring Kareena as I did not know how it would be perceived," said the "Shaandaar" actor.
Shahid was seen pairing with Alia Bhatt in "Shaandaar" and the duo will be seen together again in "Udta Punjab". For Alia also, it was Shahid who approached her with the role.
"When I told Alia about it, I felt instinctively that she is as good an actor as she is a star and therefore she would understand what potential the content has. And she did. Actually, I thought of Kareena even before I thought of Alia. But with Kareena, things got delayed. Then I told Alia that there is this role which is yet not cast and if she would like to do this role. Then in the same month, Kareena also heard it and agreed to do the film. So, it just happened. And I felt very happy when it happened for I feel it is a very special film," Shahid added.
Although, Shahid and Kareena are working together in the film, earlier reports suggested that the duo has no scene together in the film.
Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, the movie "Udta Punjab" also features Diljith Dosanjh and will be released early next year.
