Kangana Ranaut landed a role in "Katti Batti" because of Salman Khan who suggested her name for the female role in the film.
Apparently, Salman was impressed with the script of Nikhil Advani's "Katti Batti" and suggested Kangana would be perfect for the role.
"Salman loved the script as soon as he heard it and suggested that Kangana would be the perfect fit for Payal's character. Later that night, Salman called Kangana, who was in New York and told her that Payal's character was tailor made for her. As soon as Kangana got back in town we took things forward," IANS quoted Advani as saying.
Earlier, it was reported that Kangana was offered a role in Salman's upcoming movie "Sultan" but the actress reportedly rejected it as she felt such superstars would overshadow her and that she would rather prefer roles which are of equal importance.
Kangana came into the limelight with her performance in "Queen", which got her a lot of accolades. After that, the actress was seen in "Tanu Weds Manu Returns", which also turned out to be a big hit and became a Rs 100-crore movie. In fact, "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" is the only female-oriented Bollywood film till now which has earned more than Rs 150 crore at the box office.
The movie "Katti Batti" also features Imran Khan along with Kangana and is slated to be released on 18 September.
