Sonakshi Sinha, who has been seen doing action roles in two back-to-back movies, said that it is unfair to question her when nobody asks stars like Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar when they repeat action characters.
After Akira, Sonakshi featured in recently released Force 2. The actress has performed action stunts in both the films. When quizzed about portraying action-packed characters in two consecutive films, Sonakshi said that there is no question about being typecast as an action heroine.
"These are just two movies which happened to release one after the other. That's it. I don't know why people are asking me if I am worried about just being an action heroine. Why? You don't ask a male hero when they do action films. Does anyone ask Salman or Akshay or John when they do action films?" the Hindustan Times quoted the Force 2 actress as saying.
She also said that there is no similarity between the two characters that she played in Akira and Force 2. Expressing her desire to do action-oriented roles, Sonakshi added: "I have always been part of great action films like Dabangg. But I always wondered when I will be able to do the same action sequences that my heroes have done. The kind of response that I have been getting for both the films is a sign that people like watching women doing their own martial arts."
Directed by Abhinay Deo, Force 2 features Sonakshi as a RAW agent and John Abraham as a Mumbai cop. Tahir Raj Bhasin plays the character of the main antagonist. It is a sequel to John's 2011 action movie Force.
