"Nach Baliye 7" contestant Daljeet Kaur was in the news recently for her abusive marriage with Shaleen Bhanot.
At the time, she didn't speak much about what went wrong, but in an interview with The Times of India, the TV actress revealed how she was tortured at the hands of her husband.
Apparently, trouble began a day after the two got married when her mother-in-law threw tantrums about the gifts they had received. She disrupted any and all sorts of communication with her.
Her pregnancy wasn't smooth sailing either. Shaleen failed to lend any support to her making her condition worse. She would go for her checkups all by herself, and had developed asthma. Also, when she decided to go for a C-section, the husband argued saying she wasn't woman enough to take up a normal delivery.
Shaleen would often be missing in action and was once spotted kissing another girl in the basement area of the couple's building. This incident sparked a major friction between the two. The "Iss Pyaar ko Kya Naam Doon" actress was pushed to a wall and 'strangled' by him.
"...When I confronted him, he grabbed me by my throat, pinned me against the wall and tried to strangle me. My maid pleaded with him to leave me. Fortunately, he left the house instantly and never returned. That's when I decided to file an FIR. The medical report clearly states that I had strangulation marks and my neck was swelling by the minute," TOI quoted her as saying.
She is now broke and wishes to make a comeback on TV to support her son. However, Shaleen said he too has braved a lot to keep his family together adding that he would still accept all the blames his wife has accused him with.
