Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan could have shared screen space in the movie Josh, but the former rejected the role that he was offered.
Aamir was offered the role of Rahul, who falls in love with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's character of Shirley in the film. However, the Dangal actor was interested in playing Shah Rukh's character of Max. SRK played the role of a Goan goon in Josh that had received much attention.
"Aamir refused to play the role. I saw that as perfect casting. Aamir wanted to change the image and he no longer wanted to play the lover boy or romantic hero. The character of Max was charismatic. So, everyone wanted to play Max. So, Aamir would have never let Shah Rukh play it," SpotboyE quoted director Mansoor Khan as saying at JIO MAMI 18th Mumbai Film Festival.
The character of Rahul was eventually played by Chandrachur Singh. The film was released in 2000, but received the due attention much later. Both Aamir and Shah Rukh have worked with Salman Khan, but the former two have never shared screen space.
Aamir is currently busy with the promotions of his upcoming sports biopic Dangal. The film is based on the life of wrestler Mahaveer Singh Phogat. The trailer of Dangal was released some time back and has witnessed positive response from the audience. It will hit screens on December 23.
On the other hand, Shah Rukh will next be seen in Gauri Shinde's Dear Zindagi. He will then be seen in Raees, in which plays the character of a cruel bootlegger and fans are eagerly waiting to see the actor with negative shades. Raees is slated to be released on January 26.
