In an official media release, Reliance Jio revealed that its chat service is now available in Canada, United States of America (USA), United Kingdom (UK), United Arab Emirates (UAE), South Africa, Singapore, Australia and China. Jio Chat has managed to attract a sizable audience with an impressive 4.3 out of 5 star rating on Android platform.
"We are excited to launch our services in eight new countries as it will help in boosting our international presence and will also let our customers based in India connect seamlessly with their loved ones abroad," a company spokesperson said in a statement.
The availability of Jio Chat Messenger in new countries is part of an update rolled out on 2 December. The app has already crossed over 10 lakh downloads on Android smartphones alone. With the latest update, Jio Chat fixes some bugs and optimises the interface for a better and smoother experience. Also, the users can directly access media files received on the app from the device's gallery, which previously required users to either go through the app or file manager.
Jio Chat Messenger, like many other mobile messaging apps, brings plenty of features on board. You can group chat with up to 100 contacts at a time, share stickers, emoticons, doodles, pictures, videos, and audio notes, perform voice and video calls and conferences and offline chatting.
Like Viber, Jio Chat also lets you follow celebrities with channels, get updates from favourite brands and spread special promotions to engage with customers. Above all, Jio Chat is completely ad-free.
