The makers of Whatsapp Plus have released a new APK file which allows users to bypass the 24-hour ban imposed by Whatsapp recently, so as to prevent mockup apps from becoming more popular.
WhatsApp Plus is by far one of the most popular instant messaging services around the world. The app's simple-to-use features and free-to-download aspect makes it appealing to a lot of mobile users. There's no need to "sign up", "add friends" or even link your account to your Facebook or Google Plus profiles.
Despite these characteristics, there are some who wish to have additional features like increased privacy settings and customization options. Catering to the needs of such users, WhatsApp Plus serves as a great alternative. With features like hiding online statuses, choosing themes for the app and customizing it according to one's own preferences, this third-party application soon became extremely popular.
Here's how you can avoid the ban (via AmongTech). (Please note: we don't endorse the usage of non-legit applications. Please understand the risks and follow the steps at your own discretion).
- Back up your existing conversations on the original WhatsApp application
- Uninstall the original application
- Download and install the WhatsAppPlus6.76.apk file
- Enter your mobile number and continue
- Enter your phone number and click restore when the app prompts you
The risks of using WhatsApp Plus
As cool as WhatsApp Plus sounds, there may be some implications to using this app. Firstly, it hasn't been determined whether this application is legal or not. Secondly, it could lead to a permanent WhatsApp ban for violation of the application's terms and conditions.
"WhatsApp Plus is an application that was not developed by WhatsApp, nor is it authorized by WhatsApp. The developers of WhatsApp Plus have no relationship to WhatsApp, and we do not support WhatsApp Plus. Please be aware that WhatsApp Plus contains source code which WhatsApp cannot guarantee as safe and that your private information is potentially being passed to 3rd parties without your knowledge or authorization," according to the company's FAQ page, which also explains why WhatsApp bans its counterfeit.
