In an act of borderline barbarism, 15-year-old Jonasia Simpson from Boston in Massachusetts microwaved her pet turtle and shared the images on social media inviting flak from the netizens.
Simpon fried her pet as she was "bored" and later posted the images of the turtle on Fb on May 17.

However, even after getting criticised for being so inhuman, the teen further posted: "Y'all mad about that turtle, f**k it" and ITS F****ING TURTLE GET OVER IT!!." Later, the massive backlash from online users left her with no other option than to delete the social media account.
Meanwhile, a person named Brittany Adabody has launched a petition "Arrest Jonasia Simpson and Shanitha Blocker for animal cruelty" on Change.org against the teen and her mother, Shanitha Blocker, who was reportedly aware of the atrocious act of the girl.
"Charges of animal cruelty must be brought against the two of them and they must be imprisoned or at the very least fined to the full extent of the law in the hopes that they never again get the opportunity to kill or harm another innocent, helpless animal," reads the petition on the website. At the time of reporting, over 7,000 people have signed the petition.
"Animal cruelty should not be taken lightly. Every human being has a moral responsibility to protect every single living thing especially when it involves cruel and inhumane acts upon innocent life by a thoughtless disgusting human. This should be taken so very seriously," comments a netizen named Brittany Bollinger.
