The story of Rolls-Royce Sweptail will not be forgotten easily. Sweptail, believed to be the most expensive car, was unveiled to media last week at Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, an elegance competition for classic and vintage cars in Italy. As known in the auto industry, the model was the culmination of a dream of a true connoisseur to make something extraordinary and the legendary Rolls-Royce went all out to actualise it.
Now, if you thought Rolls-Royce Sweptail was just another addition to the garage of the little-known millionaire, this video will tell you, it is not. Here is a poser. Would you drive a car worth $12.8 million (Rs 84 crore) on a street bustling with people and bumper-to-bumper traffic? Frankly, not, even if you have to.
But for the proud owner of Rolls-Royce Sweptail, that was not the case. So, when the owner took the one-of-a-kind car on the street, it could not escape the shutterbugs. The good chaps at motor1.com report that Sweptail was caught on camera while making its way through Annecy, near Lyon and Bordeaux in France.
Rolls-Royce was approached by one of its most valued customers in 2013 to give wings to his dream of owning a luxury motor car like no other. In 2017, when the car was presented to the very special 'connoisseur and collector of distinctive, one-off items,' it had the shape of a magnificent car with the shape of a yacht.
