Shah Rukh Khan feels that both "Dilwale" and "Bajirao Mastani" will make good box office business, being released around Christmas time.
"Dilwale" and "Bajirao Mastani" are all set to have a box office clash as the two films will release on the same date, 18 December.
While, it is being supposed that both the films will be affected by the clash, Shah Rukh opines that both "Dilwale" and "Bajirao Mastani" will do well owing to the festive season.
"Absolutely, there is no science to it. Of course, the audience will get divided and I believe not just in my films but I believe in and respect each and everybody's film. It is kind of unfortunate. We make 200 Hindi films in a year and there are 54 to 56 Fridays a year, four films are bound to come on the same Friday. But having said that, I feel, the time that we are coming in is the Christmas weekend. There is enough business on that weekend for two films to co-exist and do well. Inshallah, both 'Dilwale' and 'Bajirao Mastani' will do very well," Pinkvilla quoted Shah Rukh as saying.
Directed by Rohit Shetty, the movie "Dilwale" features Shah Rukh, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, while Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Bajirao Mastani" will present Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra together.
This is not the first time that an SRK starrer film will clash with a Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie. In 2007 also, Shah Rukh's "Om Shanti Om" released along with Bhansali's "Saawariya", and the former came up as the clear winner at the box office.
While, "Om Shanti Om" featured Shah Rukh and Deepika together, this time the two will clash with each other at the box office with their respective films.
Earlier, there was a rumour that Deepika had called Shah Rukh and asked him to postpone the release date of "Dilwale". However, the actress later denied the buzz and asserted that she would never do anything like that.
When asked to comment on the "Dilwale" and "Bajirao Mastani" clash, Priyanka Chopra called it "unfortunate" and asserted that she hopes both the films will do well as both the stories are very different from each other.
