While the show coming back on television is a great news for fans, they will be disappointed with Joong Ki and Hye Kyo not playing the lead role. Joong Ki and Hye Kyo's chemistry in the show was one of the reasons why the show did well in terms of rating and also became popular outside South Korea. But the latest rumours suggest that the Joong Ki and Hye Kyo are busy with other commitments, which is why they will not be able to return to television in the second season.
Joong Ki recently mentioned that after his movie, Battleship Island, he would take a break from his professional commitments and go on a vacation. On the other hand, Hye Kyo has not signed any new projects, but she is busy endorsing several brands.
Meanwhile, in January, a photo of Joong Ki shooting with a mystery woman started doing the rounds that sparked speculations that he might be shooting for the second season of Descendants of the Sun. But the latest reports suggest that he might not be reuniting with Hye Kyo for the drama.
But don't get disappointed, as these are just speculations and the makers of the show are yet to make an official announcement regarding the second season.
