Film sequels have now become the order of the day. "Welcome Back", the Anees Bazmee directorial, hit screens on 4 September and there are already reports hinting at a part two.
"The producers are keen to sign either Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra or Tiger Shroff for the project. However, they have not been approached so far. The story would be pitched before them as and when the casting process begins," Mid Day quoted an insider as saying.
However, even if one of these three were to sign the project, the work wouldn't start until next year as all of them are neck-deep in work.
Sidharth is currently shooting with Katrina Kaif for Nitya Mehra's "Baar Baar Dekho", Varun is off to Hyderabad for "Dilwale" final schedule and then will hop to "Dishoom" sets with Jacqueline Fernandez and John Abraham. Tiger, on the other hand, will completely immerse himself in Sabbir Khan's "Baaghi".
In other news, while the makers are yet to zero in on the lead for the sequel they seem to be sure of not roping in filmmaker Anees to helm the project.
"They developed the idea of a third film during the promotions of Welcome Back. Anil Kapoor has already given his nod to the film. Anees has not been approached for the project although he is aware of it. The makers are willing to get a young director to helm the second sequel," a source informed the leading daily.
Since there has been no official confirmation on the above mentioned developments, this piece of news may, at best, be considered as a mere speculation.
