John Abraham starrer "Welcome Back" is now slowly inching towards Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office. After second weekend, the comedy entertainer's box office collection stands at approximately Rs 85 crore, which is the seventh highest grosser of 2015.
"Welcome Back" minted approximately Rs 11.75 crore in its second weekend, according to Box Office India.
The 10-day box office collection of "Welcome Back" is the seventh highest after "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", "Tanu Weds Manu Returns", "Baahubali - The Beginning" (Bahubali) Hindi version, "ABCD 2", "Baby" and "Gabbar Is Back".
"Welcome Back" will soon push down "Gabbar Is Back" to seventh highest grosser. The comedy entertainer requires just Rs 3 crore more to beat Akshay Kumar's "Gabbar Is Back" record.
The film will take two or three days more to become the sixth highest grosser, but the film will have to wait till the third weekend to cross the Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office.
Meanwhile, the film has been mired in controversy after the director Anees Bazmee claimed that the producers are yet to give him his fee amount.
"I was supposed to get the money before the release of the film. But I still went and made the film for the relationship we share (Firoz and I). I kept patience," "Welcome Back" director told Press Trust of India.
"Even though the film has released and is doing well, I am yet to get my money. I am not greedy. I am not angry, I am hurt," he added.
Produced by Firoz Nadiadwala, the film also features Shruti Haasan, Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Nana Patekar, Dimple Kapadia, Naseeruddin Shah and Sakshi Maggo in pivotal roles.
