Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has hardly featured for the Red Devils this season with talk going around that the England International is set to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season. One destination for all footballers looking for a big pay day is the Chinese Super League.
Rooney has been linked with a move to Chine on numerous occasions this season, ever since talks about his future at Manchester United came up. Should Rooney decide to move to the Chinese Super League, the forward would earn around £1 million a week, making him one of the world's best paid footballers.

However, his move to the Chinese Super League could be blocked by his wife Coleen Rooney after the striker lost £500,000 throwing money on roulette and blackjack in a casino in March. Reports say that Rooney's wife is afraid that should the Manchester United captain earn a lot more money that would give him the chance to bet more.
Rooney went to Manchester's 235 casino after Manchester United's Europa League home win over FC Rostov on March 16. An unnamed source told the Daily Star that the money offer from the Chinese Super League is astronomical and his wife understands why he would want to move there, but it won't make sense if he gambles all his money away.
Reports say that Rooney, who currently earns around £300k a week, blew £4k a minute at the casino. A few onlookers said: "Wayne was being extremely reckless, laying down chips which amounted to massive bets. He was drinking bottles of beer. But he wasn't drunk. He was more interested in the gambling than drinking.
"He was gambling a lot on red when he was playing roulette — which seemed appropriate — and was putting long-shot bets on solo numbers. He kept losing but that just prompted him to bet more. He was chasing his losses, which was just making things worse for him. People in the casino were looking at him and were stunned at what was happening."
In the past Rooney has admitted that he has a gambling problem in his autobiography and said Coleen had been furious when he once lost £50,000. The Manchester United forward will definitely not want to put an end to his illustrious career at Old Trafford, but admitted that he needs to play football at this point in his career rather than sit on the bench.
