Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney and and his wife Coleen Rooney are expecting their second child and the due date is some time in May next year.
Excited Coleen broke the happy news to the world on Wednesday via Twitter and expressed her happiness on the prospect of adding a new member to the family.
"A few people guessed, so news is out ha!! Me wayne and Kai are thrilled that we are expecting a new addition to our family around May time x," wrote Coleen on her twitter page.
She said that she is happy with the latest development and thanked everyone who sent congratulatory messages to her.
"Its still only early but bursting with excitement! Also wanted the news to come from us, before anyone else! Thanks you all so much all our lovely messages!! We are over the moon x," she tweeted.
Interestingly, the pregnancy happened around the time when the 26-year-old Manchester United striker was nursing a high injury that he received from a collision with Fulham's Hugo Rodallega in August.
The injury forced him to stay out of action for a few weeks, and rumours started spreading like wildfire that Sir Alex Ferguson was planning to show him the doors but that didn't happen. In fact, the injury turned out to be a blessing in disguise for the couple as Coleen conceived while he was recuperating at home.
Rooney married Coleen on June 12, 2008, after dating for six years. They welcomed their first child Kai Wayne Rooney on November 2, 2009.
