When season 2 of the FXX series, "You're the Worst", premieres on Wednesday, 9 September, we will see how the commitment-phobes Gretchen and Jimmy adjust to living with each other.
One main advantage that the lead couple has is that both of them know the other's most despicable habits and characters, and are willingly accepting of them. However, in the coming season, we will get to see them deal with some of the darker emotions and topics.
The showrunners and Aya Cash, who plays Gretchen Cutler, have teased that season 2 will tackle many issues that both Jimmy (Chris Geere) and Gretchen suffer in their personal lives, and could adversely affect their relationship.
The basic thematic thread for the season would be similar to a dialogue between Lindsay (Kether Donohue) and her husband Paul (Allan McLeod) from last season, wherein Lindsay responded with "Ew", when her husband said that love is all about putting the other person's feelings above your own.
While their personal lives gets a lot more difficult, work just gets worse and worse. Gretchen accidentally starts a fight between the three rappers she works for and is not able to manage the situation correctly. Meanwhile, Jimmy is still figuring out his next book, and meanwhile, trying to keep his beautiful house, and make some money. He will be seen trying out many new jobs that are not worth his time.
Watch out for season 2 episode 1 of "You're the Worst" on Wednesday, 9 September on FXX, or live stream it via FXNow.
