Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis' performance in the women's doubles has been nothing short of outstanding. They have not even given their opponents a glimmer of hope in the competition so far and even when they were tested in their last game against Casey Dellacqua and Yaroslava Shvedova , they stood tall and won the match, 7-5 and 6-3.
If they continue in a similar manner, the Indo-Swiss pair might be able to grab their first grand slam as a pair. After a disappointing French Open 2015, where they lost in the quarter finals of the competition, Sania and Hingis are eager to win the Wimbledon women's doubles title. The Indo-Swiss pair have it in them to go all the way.
As of now, Sania and Hingis have to concentrate on the work at hand as they prepare for the semi final encounter against the fifth seeds from the US, Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears in court number 1 on Friday.
Though Sania and Hingis are favourites for the title, the Indo-Swiss pair are aware of the task ahead of them. One of the best things about the pair is that they do treat all their opponents with respect and rarely take their opponents lightly.
The pairing of Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears commands respect for what they have achieved in the competition so far as well.
The semi final match is expected to be of high quality with both the teams having been in top form throughout the competition. Kops-Jones and Spears have not lost a single set in the competition and they even defeated the third seeds, Lucie Šafářová and Mattek-Sands, 6-3and 6-2 in the quarter finals to set up a date with the top seeds.
In a similar manner, the Indo-Swiss pair have not dropped a single set, which means the pair, which drops their first two set in the competition will have to satisfy themselves with a semi finals finish.
Neither pair will be happy with that so expect both the teams to go all out against one another during the match.
