Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis have been a successful pair ever since they decided to play together earlier in the year, but they are yet to win a grand slam title. Wimbledon 2015 provides the Indo-Swiss pair a strong chance to win the prestigious women's doubles title.
Sania and Hingis, who are the top seeds in the competition, have stayed true to their tag and have looked in amazing form defeating their opponents with ridiculous ease. The top seeds have not dropped a single set in the competition and if they continue their present form, no pair might be able to steal a set away from the pair.
What makes the pairing of Sania and Hingis a huge success is their approach towards their game as they treat each and every opponent with great respect. Hardly do they take any game casually.
Hence, when the Indo-Swiss pair face Yaroslava Shvedova and Casey Dellacqua in the last eight, expect Sania and Hingis to treat them with respect, but with an eye on victory.
Sania and Hingis were not troubled much in their last game against the 16th seed, Anabel Medina Garrigues and Arantxa Parra Santonja, which they won 6-4 and 6-3.
If the top seeds come up with a similar performance against the ninth seeded pair of Shvedova and Dellacqua, they should be favourites to reach the semi-finals of the competition.
Sania's game has visibly improved as well after she started to pair alongside Hingis, who has been using her experience to the hilt. What surprises us more is that Sania Mirza, who is currently ranked number one in doubles, has failed to win any grand slam title in women's doubles.
Sania has only reached one grand slam final, which happens to be the 2011 French Open and her best in Wimbledon has been a semi-final finish in 2011.
This time around, Sania Mirza will hope to go all the way and partnering Hingis gives her an ultimate chance to lift her first grand slam women's doubles title.
