Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo will be back with episode 9 this Wednesday, December 14, at 10pm KST on MBC. The sequel is likely to wrap up the love triangle between Jung Joon-hyung, his childhood friend Kim Bok-joo and her obesity doctor Jung Jae-yi.
In the sequel, Lee Jae-yoon's character will try to figure out the real reason for his patient to hide her identity from him. The promo shows him enquiring about it to his cousin brother and the close friend of Kim Bok-joo.
Although it is not clear if the swimmer will inform his cousin about the weightlifter's crush on him, the promo features the three of them together at a restaurant along with Go Ah-young. The video shows Nam Joo-hyuk's character trying to divert his friend's attention while the obesity doctor gets closer to his first crush.
Speculations suggest that Jae-yi will help his patient overcome her feelings for him and they will agree to continue as good friends in the ninth episode of the Korean mini-series. The sneak peek video shows him encouraging her during a competition and offering her flowers.
The promo also hints at troubled moments for the swimmer as it shows Bok-joo's father Chang-gul and her uncle Dae-ho confronting him and threatening him to stay away from him. Will he tell them the truth?
