The war between humans and Abbies takes hold of the plot in the latest instalment of "Wayward Pines." In Season 2, episode 8, titled "Pass Judgement," the town has to deal with the threat of an attack by the Abbies and at least one character will succumb to this violent, existential problem.
Throughout Season 2, "Wayward Pines" has been hinting at a full-fledged battle between the residents of the Idaho town and the Abberations. Although audiences didn't know why the Abbies attack humans and see them as their enemies, this was finally revealed last week, in episode 7.
Fans of the show will remember that David Pilcher killed a lot of Abbies and built "Wayward Pines" in a plot that originally belonged to the Abbies. In this context, the Abbies' hatred for all of humanity gains significance and clears the fog about these mutant cannibalistic creatures. Furthermore, the Abbies' leader, Margaret's desire to attack "Wayward Pines", is now coloured with motive.
In Season 2, episode 8, Margaret will use this motive to communicate to her people and try to escape the fence. Her ambition: to allow her people to enter the town and destroy human kind. The First Generation will try to stop this by hunting her down, but they might not be successful. The synopsis (via TV Guide) for the upcoming instalment indicates that Kerry might just lose her life. If that is indeed the case, then the fight against the Abbies will become more personal to the First Generation's leader, Jason.
"Wayward Pines" Season 2 episode 8 airs at 9 p.m. EST on Wednesday, July 13, on FOX. You can live-stream the episode via FOX NOW.
