After the action-packed mid-season premiere episode, Vikings season 4 will be back with another interesting episode this Wednesday, December 7, at 9 pm EST. Episode 12 is titled The Vision and it will focus on Lagertha and Queen Aslaug.
Here is the official synopsis for the upcoming episode: Ragnar Lothbrok will seek to equip his voyage to Wessex, even while being warned that the gods have deserted him. in the meantime, his son Björn Ironside will prepare to fulfill his dream of exploring the Mediterranean.
Meanwhile, a promo for the sequel shows Lagertha confronting Queen Aslaug during the celebration for her son's expedition. In the clip, the shieldmaiden tells her rival that she can never forgive her for taking her husband and her world. "You call yourself queen, but you can never be the Queen of Kattegat," she says.
Creator Michael Hirst has already revealed that the rivalry between the two powerful women will be an important storyline in the second part of Vikings. According to him, Ragnar's former wife will plan her revenge against the queen, which will culminate a very deep and divisive relationship.
"Viking society is, you know, pretty much based on revenge. There's no point in me denying that. This is a culmination of a storyline that goes back to season 1, that Lagertha has clearly never forgotten, or forgiven, Aslaug," Hirst said.
