Just before the Indian Premier League 2017 started, during the Test series against Australia , most of the Indian cricketers were seen sporting long beard. Players like Ravindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, KL Rahul among others had turned it into a fashion statement.
But, some of the Indian players including Jadeja, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya were the first ones to shave it off.
All of them wore a different style with their new beardless faces. Some other players like Ajinkya Rahane also followed suit, and now Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan have also shaved their beard, getting a fresh new look.
Both the players took to social media and shared their new look. Raina can be seen spotting a French beard while Shikhar also seems to have come up with a similar cut.
Raina seems to have taken this decision to get rid of the beard due to his daughter. Raina shared a photo, and the caption read. "I realised tht my little daughter is not so fond of the beard so this 1 for youGracia.Presenting my#BreakTheBeard look #newlook #summerlook?"
Shikhar's new look will be spotted in the Champions Trophy in England.
With most of the Indian team players spotting a clean and fresh look for the Champions Trophy, it remains to be seen if Kohli would also shave his beard.
However, the India captain informed his fellow players in April itself, when the trend was spreading amongst India cricketers, that he was not willing to give up the beard any time soon.
