Mumbai Indians won their third Indian Premier League title as they beat Rising Pune Supergiant by one run in an epic last-ball thriller. The celebrations started on the field itself for the Rohit Sharma-led side.
Rohit ran towards his team mates from the boundary line, and all the players were jumping in joy at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Players from the dugout also sprinted like Usain Bolt towards the pitch, where they celebrated like no other.
But, those celebrations were nothing if one compared to Jos Buttler's celebration while watching the game in his country, England. The wicket-keeper batsman had to leave midway to prepare for the ODI series against South Africa after playing an integral part in the early part of the season for Mumbai Indians.
With RPS requiring 4 runs from the last ball of the match in the IPL 2017 final, they could only manage two runs as Parthiv Patel uprooted the stump while the RPS players were going for the third run. Buttler, in front of his TV, only in his towel, and with the excitement reaching fever pitch, the Englishman jumped up and down in joy, and even removed his towel for a brief moment after the winning moment.
Such instances reflect how foreign players love the IPL and their engagement with their franchise is there for everyone to see.
However, this naked and wild celebration of Jos Buttler would make Indian model Poonam Pandey proud as she posted a saucy selfie after India defeated Bangladesh in World T20 2016, and she also stripped when India defeated South Africa in World Cup 2015.
The model, however, had initially shot to fame after promising to strip for the Indian cricket team if they won the 2011 World Cup. India won, but the stripping act did not transpire.
