Director Sameer Thahir's upcoming family thriller "Kali" is making headlines everyday and has raised the expectations of the audience from the movie much before its release. After garnering positive response for first-look posters and trailer, the makers have released the first song of the flick Tuesday, March 22.
The "Vaarthinkalee" song, featuring Dulquer Salmaan and Sai Pallavi, has been receiving tremendous response from the audience after it was released on the YouTube channel of Hand Made Filmz. The song is penned by BK Harinarayanan and singer Divya S Menon has lent her voice to the melody that is composed by Gopi Sundar.
The four-minute 33-second video shows certain moments spent together by the lead actors and Dulquer (Siddharth) is seen struggling to control his anger to make his ladylove happy. Sai (Anjali) looks charming with her smile and is constantly seen supporting her husband in anger management. Director VK Prakash also appears in a cameo role in the song as Dulquer's on-screen father.

"Compared to my previous songs, "Vaarthinkale" is very different that was sung on a lower scale. I could complete the recording pretty fast and my experience in working with the team was really good. I am satisfied with the kind of response I have got from the audience since the release of the audio. Now, after the video featuring the onscreen chemistry of Dulquer and Sai is released, the song becomes more beautiful. I am very happy" singer Divya told International Business Times, India.

"Kali" also has another song "Chillu Ranthal," sung by Job Kurian and the makers are expected to release it in the coming days. Recently, social media users had accused Gopi of copying the background score of the movie's trailer from the 2015 English movie "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." Following this, the music composer had admitted to having been "inspired" by the background score of the Hollywood movie and claimed to have made slight changes before using it in the trailer of the Dulquer-starrer.
Produced by Handmade Films, "Kali" is scheduled to hit screens March 26 and is expected to rock the box office repeating the success of Dulquer's State Film Award winning movie "Charlie."
