Liverpool will target top spot and Sion a place in the UEFA Europa League last 32 when the two teams meet at Tourbillon on Thursday.
The English Premier League side ensured their place in the next round of the Europa League with a win over Bordeaux a couple of weeks ago, and now all they need is a draw on Thursday to go through as group winners.
However, Jurgen Klopp will demand an improved performance from his side after seeing Liverpool go down to Newcastle United in the Premier League at the weekend.
"[Sion are] a good team, a good counter-attack team," Klopp said. "They have a good idea of the game. They have good offensive players, good common defending, so we have to be creative, we have to be aware of the counter-attacks and all these things.
"We saw them play – I was not with Liverpool in the first game but I watched it on television, and we saw three or four games of theirs.
"There is a difference between the league in Switzerland and the Europa League but they have done well in Europe because they can show their strength in defence and quick transition. That's really difficult to play against."
Liverpool, who drew with Sion 1-1 in the reverse fixture at Anfield, were dealt another blow following the loss to Newcastle United, after Daniel Sturridge suffered yet another injury. Having just come back from a spell on the sidelines, Sturridge is set for more time on the treatment table after suffering a hamstring strain.
"It's a hamstring and it's not easy to say when he can be back for us," Klopp added. "There are two different things we have to look at -- the one thing is the injury and the other is how we can bring him into a shape that is not so intensive for him, so he needs to train.
"The injury is not that serious. The last time he trained, he got 60 minutes at Southampton, which was quite good, and then another 30 at Newcastle, which was not that good because in one of the first moments when he had a shot at goal, he felt something in the muscle.
"It's not that serious, but it's not possible to play. Now we have to build up his resistance. It is like it is. We have to help him be more resistant for all the games we have."
While Liverpool only require a draw to seal top spot, Sion will also be happy to take a point from the match, as that result particular will ensure their place in the round of 32 as well. So, this match does have a draw written all over it.
