Following the inhuman Paris attacks, "Supergirl" episodes have been shuffled up so that a terrorist attack-themed episode can be avoided this week. This shuffle-up has resulted in the early arrival of Thanksgiving in National City, to celebrate which Kara's (Melissa Benoist) adoptive mother Eliza Danvers (Helen Slater) comes to town.
As is the case with every woman in her twenties, her mother's visit is going to weigh heavily on Kara, seeing as the older Danvers woman is not happy about her daughter's superhero status. The viewers can look forward to a tense Thanksgiving at the Danvers household.
An interesting trivia for the "Supergirl" fans: Slater used to be a former Supergirl in the 1984 film of the same name.
Regardless of her mother's disapproval, Kara will have to prepare for a showdown with a former CatCo employee Leslie Willis (Brit Morgan) who turns into the titular "Livewire" and is very angry with Cat Grant (Calista FLockhart). Naturally, she goes after the do-gooder and "boring" Supergirl. Livewire adds to the slew of DC super villains making their debut in National City.
"Supergirl" has also released glimpses from future episodes along with "Livewire", wherein we see the Kryptonian fighting an unknown alien with red head. Although she confuses the alien for a man, Hank (David Harewood) rectifies the mistake by saying "she", to which Kara replies, "Oh! Respect".
Watch out for Season 1 Episode 4 of "Supergirl" at 8 pm (EST) on Monday, 16 November. You can also live stream "Livewire" via CBS Live.
