"Supergirl" is only three episodes old, but it has quickly become one of the most popular shows, just as fast as Kara (Melissa Benoist) is growing into her superhero status. In the first episode, we saw Kara finally embracing who she truly is, while episode 2 "Stronger Together" marked her coming to the realisation that she needs to ask for help.
The upcoming episode 3 will see all of National City questioning Supergirl yet again, and comparing her to Superman, when a new rogue alien causes mayhem. From Cat's (Calista Flockhart) interview of Kara, "Fight or Flight" will see National City learning more about Supergirl, specifically the fact that she is Superman's cousin.
So far, Superman has only been referenced in the series as "the Big Guy" and his face has remained obscure. Although we expect the trend to continue, the revelation that Supergirl is related to him, will result in some interesting events.
Reactron (Chris Browning), a known enemy of Superman, decides to take revenge from his nemesis by killing his cousin. He arrives at Maxwell Lord's (Peter Facinelli) laboratory just as he was bragging about the new train he has invented for National City and tries to take a scientist with a background in nuclear fission as hostage; Maxwell volunteers for the same.
We will also see Kara falling deeper in love with Jimmy (Mehcad Brooks), and although the feelings may be reciprocated, it looks like the romance will have to wait as in an upcoming episode, we will see the arrival of Jimmy's ex-fiance Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan-Tatum).
Watch out for Season 1 episode 3 of "Supergirl" at 8 pm (EST) on Monday, 9 November. You can also live stream "Fight or Flight" via CBS Live.
