On BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha's 70th birthday, his daughter Sonakshi Sinha gave a rare gift to the veteran actor by playing the chenda during the family celebration in Kerala.
The celebrity family received a grand welcome in Alappuzha with Kalaripayattu (Kerala's indigenous martial arts) and Chenda (a percussion instrument) melam.
Impressed by the performance of the percussionists, Sonakshi joined them and started beating the chenda in excitement.
The Sinha family decided to celebrate the actor's 70th birthday in the backwaters of Kerala and made it a family holiday trip to Alappuzha, the Venice of the East.
Apart from daughter Sonakshi, the actor's wife Poonam, sons Luv and Kush, daughter-in-law Taruna accompanied him to the Alappuzha backwaters.
Much of their off-site celebration was held aboard a houseboat on Vembanadu Lake, including cutting cake.
The actress also posted a video of her chenda performance on her official Twitter account, saying "When in rome do what the romans do! But im in Kerala, so..."
On Facebook, she posted the video saying, "Shotgun junior celebrating Seniors birthday in true desi style!"
