The latest instalment of Freeform's fantasy adventure TV series "Shadowhunters" will put fans on an edge. Clary Fray's (Katherine McNamara) best friend Simon will battle his impulse to bite her. Furthermore, Alec will struggle with his feelings for Magnus in Season 1 Episode 9 titled "Rise Up."
In last week's episode titled "Bad Blood," Clary helped Simon (Alberto Rosende) transition into a vampire. As he pushed himself through a mound of mud, Simon experienced an emotional turmoil. His new identity as a vampire affected him. Episode 8 also revealed that the forsaken body has traces of angel blood, through which they can gain entry into the Institute. It remains to be seen what Clary, Jace (Dominic Sherwood) and the rest will do.

In the upcoming episode, Lydia (Stephanie Bennett) will order the arrest of Meliorn (Jade Hassoune). Alec's sister Izzy will cry foul when she sees it happen at the Institute and confronts the Clave's representative. On her part, Lydia says in the promo, "It's our understanding that your longstanding relationship with the seelie Meliorn led to the disclosure of the state's secrets." When Izzy (Emeraude Toubia) denies that Meliorn leaked information, Lydia dismisses it.
While the women argue about justice, Alec struggles at the thought of spending the rest of his life with Lydia. It becomes clear to him that he can't be pragmatic and may perhaps go back to Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.), the warlock of Brooklyn. If the two indeed get back together, we predict Clary will be the happiest.
Speaking of Clary, her experience in Episode 9 will leave her shaken. The New York Institute will be under attack and the shadowhunters have to find a way to run or defend themselves. While Alec (Matthew Daddario) stays on at the Institute, Clary and Jace run on the streets of New York and have an extremely passionate moment: they kiss again and promise to talk about their relationship.
Unfortunately, Jace is not the only person in love with her. Clary's best friend Simon looks at her throbbing veins and lets her know that he can smell her blood and wants to drink it. Will good sense prevail on Simon?

The Institute's on high alert after the attack. Meanwhile, Lydia makes a harsh call on the Seelies, but the others fear it's the wrong decision; Simon struggles to deal with his new situation; and Alec's emotionally torn about the Institute.
