Serie A leaders Juventus are looking to increase their points tally in the Italian top flight this season with an eye to clinching the Italian league title for the fifth consecutive time. The Old Lady take on Sassulo in their 29th game of the season Friday at the Juventus Stadium in Turin.
The Turin giants are currently three points clear of second-placed Napoli, and have 20 wins, and four draws and defeats each from 28 games.
Sassulo are currently seventh in the Serie A, and are not doing too bad either. They are undefeated in their previous five league fixtures and look quite likely to finish at the top half of the table by the end of the season. However, beating Juventus in Turin will be a tough challenge for them.
Juventus have not lost in the Serie A since October 21, 2015. Coincidentally, their last defeat in the Serie A this season also came against Sassulo on October 28 last year at the Mapei Stadium. Sansone scored the only goal for the home side while Juve defender Chiellini was shown a red card.
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has urged his men not to lose focus going into the business end of the competition, as the club looks for its fifth domestic league title in a row.
"Our objective is to win our fifth Scudetto [Italian league title] in a row — that would be extraordinary," Allegri told Juventusfc.com. "The only way we're going to do it is by taking one step at a time, without allowing ourselves to be distracted by other people's opinions. The league is a sprint right now."
For Sassulo coach Eusebio Di Francesco, the key to registering a favourable result in the match is a determined display by every single Sassulo player participating in the game.
"We're looking for a big performance [against Juventus]," the Italian coach was quoted as saying by Juventus' official website. "There's no doubting that we face the most in-form team in the league that boasts a terrific winning mentality, but I want my players to enter the match with confidence and a desire to cause serious problems for the opposition who haven't conceded in a very long time."
