The long wait for "The Rap Game" is finally over, with the Season 2 premiering on Friday, July 21. The new season will see seven aspiring hip hop artistes trying to win the title of America's next rap superstar and follow Miss Mulatto's footsteps into stardom.
The premiere episode, titled "Who's Hungry," will introduce these young performers and ask them to give the audience a glimpse of their talent. It will kick off the 10-week rapper boot camp for the participants, who are vying for a contract with executive producer Jermaine Dupri's record label So So Def.
The contestants of "The Rap Game" Season 2 are Jayla (New York), JI (Brooklyn), Mini Barbie (Atlanta), Mani (LA), Tally (Nashville), Lil Key (Baltimore) and Nia Kay (Chicago). Each of these contestants has a unique flavour to bring to the table, and clearly they are the best from the thousands of applicants that auditioned from across the nation.

Of all the kid rappers, JI seems to be novice, having only been rapping for two years. However, he seems to be a lyrical genius and the hook to his audition rap was so impressive that the judges did not even believe he wrote it himself. However, JI, who is also known as The Prince of NY, proved his talents in writing by rapping a self-written superfast hook, which made the judges compare him to a mad scientist.
Fans will see him and the other seven rappers sweating it out in Atlanta, thanks to Dupri's strenuous boot camp. Meanwhile, the synopsis for Season 2 has promised a twist and we think it has something to do with the return of a Season 1 contestant.
