The first look of Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh starring "Gunday" has finally been unveiled.
The retro film is based on the story of two friends, who start off as petty thieves, and their journey to get into the top league.
Ranveer and Arjun play two orphan refugees displaced by the India-Bangladesh partition in 1971. They begin as gun smugglers and eventually end up as coal mafias. The film has been shot mostly in Kolkata and has strong overtones of Bengal to it with the Howrah Bridge in the backdrop along with the festivities of the state.
However, the two-minute, three-second long teaser of the film shows no glimpse of the film's leading lady - Priyanka Chopra.
Ranveer is seen carrying off the 'Ram-leela' look in "Gunday", while Arjun dons a scruffy look, to keep in line with the rawness of his character.
During the film's shoot Ranveer was injured and admitted to hospital. In another leg of the shoot some of the film's crew met with an accident when their car collided with a truck.
The film is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced under the Yash Raj Films banner. Its release is scheduled for Valentine's Day next year.
