Even if you have heard about and seen many fairy tale-like weddings, the silent two-minute-long wedding video of Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi is something you should not miss.
Sonia, who was then known as Antonia Albina Màino, met the Gandhi scion at a Greek Restaurant in Cambridge University in 1965.
While Rajiv had moved to England to study engineering in Trinity College of Cambridge, Sonia was pursuing her studies in English at the Lennox Cook School of Languages.
After getting engaged in January, the couple tied the knot on 25 February, 1968. While Sonia looked gorgeous in a pink saree, Rajiv looked handsome in his cream-coloured sherwani.
The iconic civil wedding, which took place in the garden of Indira Gandhi's residence in New Delhi, saw the presence of the then-President Zakir Hussain, Indira Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi, Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit, Sonia's mother, sister, maternal uncle and other family members and friends of the Gandhi family. However, Sonia's father was not present at the sacred ceremony.
The couple is also seen exchanging garlands, signing official documents and cutting a tiered wedding cake in the wedding footage.
A grand wedding reception was also hosted by the then-PM at the Hyderabad House on 26 February and it was attended by many dignitaries.
The video, uploaded on YouTube by British Movietone in July this year, has been shared by many on social media.
