Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings, with their tails up after a splendid win in their respective first Pakistan Super League matches, are set for a top of the table clash in Dubai International Stadium on Saturday.
Quetta, who defeated one of the favourites, Islamabad United, on Thursday, will be eager to see off Karachi Kings and stand on top of the table with four points. If they manage to come up with a similar performance like they did against Islamabad, Quetta would probably emerging triumphant.
Opener Luke Wright, who scored an incredible 53-ball 86, will be asked to provide another flying start against Karachi. They have some quality batsmen in their line-up. Kevin Pietersen coming into bat at number three followed by Mohammad Nawaz, Sarfaraz Ahmed and others makes Quetta one of the strongest batting team in the competition. Pietersen will have a point to prove after failing with the bat in his first PSL game.
However, these batsmen are set to be tested by the Karachi bowlers. With top bowlers such as Mohammad Amir, Sohail Tanvir, Shakib-Al-Hasan and others, an interesting contest is on the cards. Amir should be even confident to dislodge these batsmen after taking the first hat-trick of the PSL.
Karachi may be devoid of world-class batsmen compared to Quetta, but they have some quality players in their ranks to deliver for the team as was witnessed on Friday. Lendl Simmons played a huge hand in helping Karachi get off to a bright start with an unbeaten 62 runs from 46 balls to chase down Lahore's score of 125 runs.
Besides Simmons, they also have the services of Shakib and Shoaib Malik in the middle order, which lends them the much-needed solidity. They will have to be careful against the Quetta bowlers, which includes Anwar Ali, Zulfiqar Babar and Umar Gul primarily.
On the other hand, Quetta will depend on Gul, who is one of the finest T20 bowlers in the world with a great yorker and an amazing mix of variety.
With both teams having won their first match, they will be eager to maintain their winning streak on Saturday, which makes the fourth match of the PSL even more interesting.
